Today I treated myself to a coffee - I only have one every month or so - and so I thought I'd try my local Costa. This is quite a large sit-in Costa with an ok selection of food, and I've eaten here in the past.

I popped in as I wanted to try a coffee and something a bit "crazy". I went for the caramel cappuccino and they confirmed they can do that with soy milk (can you tell I know nothing about coffee?). It was quick, well made and pretty damn awesome. I'll be back for another one.

Since passing my driving test, Betty and I have taken quite a few trips up to The Avenue at the Mearns. I used to come here once or twice a year, now I come once or twice a week.

After a hard days work doing the weekly shopping between ASDA and Marks & Sparks, an epic trip round Boots to top up on holiday stuff, I decided to reward myself with a beverage from Costa. As I've said in previous reviews, I'm not a big coffee drinker so I decided to go for a tame cinnamon latte which tasted amazing. I also treated myself to a lemon and orange muffin although it was pretty disappointing and didn't taste like orange or lemon... it was just like eating a moist tasteless dough. Ew.

It's rather popular so gets quite busy but when I was in the super efficient staff ensured that the queue moved quickly and I was on my merry way.

The hot chocolate I had here was great! It's a shame I don't go enough in order to rate it 5 stars. But look forward to going again soon!

It's Costa Coffee, so you know what's coming. Decent quality, but not quite as good as Starbucks when it comes to choice or sometimes, standards.

But it's in The Avenue, and given that I have a peculiar love for early 90s shopping centres, and sort-of bustling suburban locations, it still does it for me.

It's a nice place to pop in for a coffee and cake.
